I didn't mind as much when I was in the boonies...if my car went across the road I hit a field or a ditch...in the city it's five lanes of traffic. 
After you have Liam.... practice falling... I know it sounds stupid as hell... but seriously.... maybe it will help you conquer your fear if you knew how to fall correctly.
