Pumpkin ban in Halloween protest
Pumpkins have been banned from a Halloween festival - because they are considered too American. Instead, traditional Scottish activities such as a turnip lantern competition and dooking for apples will feature in De'il Tak the Hindmost.
There will also be a short film about a Templar Knight who guarded the Stone of Destiny for more than 700 years.
Organisers of the event at Scone Palace said it was their response to "American big business and rampant consumerism".
Jock Ferguson from Herald Events added: "We will be having none of that pumpkin or trick-or-treat rubbish.
"Pumpkins are banned and will not be allowed beyond the front gate."
As well as the specially-commissioned 'A Tale O' Twa Stanes' film, there will be a short drama featuring "deid Scotsman".
The Very Scottish Halloween show is being held on 27 and 28 October at Scone Palace.

Turnip carving is incredibly European. Pumpkins carving started in the colonies because they were more common than turnips.
