Prostitution is a very old and honorable profession. People only think it is belittling because of sex hangups. But sex is not dirty, degrading or evil. There are good reasons not to be a prostitute but I don't think people should look down on prostitutes because it's the profession they have chosen. Unfortunately some women have it forced on them and that is bad. Legalizing it will greatly improve the working conditions and, I believe, make it a completely voluntary profession.

If I am not mistaken there has never been a case of aids in a Nevada brothel

Legalize it

I am friggin horny and don't want to have to fly to Nevada. :D

Plus the damn rates are too friggin high out there. Sorry but $800 for an hour of sex is a bit much

I could drive a half hour and go to Canada where escorts are allowed to do as they choose.

That's only cause your such a prick, you wait till our buck is way low and then take advantage of our "escorts" :D

Prostitution and Brothels are legal here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Australia

Some states (ACT, WA and SA) have also decriminalised MJ...(well you can have up to I think 3 plants for personal use)

I remember picking up a tourist guide to Sydney when I first got there and there were adverts for the brothels. Shame there are still some illegal stuff going on there though. I drove home through Kings Cross one night and there were street walkers everwhere, saw one girl who only looked about 13, made me feel sick.

I think it should also be legal but I think if Government starts to License and tax it, it becomes partly responsible for the negative effects it has on the population.

Take as an example AIDS.. It maybe controlled and that is great.. But say another virus such as Ebola were to start spreading throughout the Prostitution Community, people would expect the tax money to come back and help them just as a disaster would. The issue with that is that Health Issues can be much worse and death costs astronomical.. If you think Health Care is costly, face a full blown Crisis that must be covered by Government funding.. Health Care / Health Prevention and much different then Health Crisis management.

So Legalize it, but keep it out of Government..

You mean decriminalise it? That's pretty much like what the situation is in many places, kind of over here really. By law a woman is allowed to sell her body for sex but not advertise it. They get round it a lot through advertising as a massage parlour or escort agency but the police still crack down on it every now and then though usually they turn a blind eye, it's a very grey and unclear area.

No Legalize it..

Just not make it something the Government should License or sponsor.. Take Government out of the equation.. Let them set up a private Licensing board like Doctors have here, Union style..

Also let them buy Private additional insurance ( as is the case in Canada ) other then your basic.. And they can advertise like any other business as long as it's with taste..

There will always be dodgy activity around the sex trade whether its legal or not, and unfortunately Pete, there are 13 year old pro's the world over, including the UK.;)

Sad, but true.

It's not my thing but if the Duggars can do it through monogamy, I see no reason a woman can't be promiscuity.

As far as I know the Duggars are a married, monogomous couple. So WTF is your point? Married people having sex with their spouse is like prostitution?

I say legalize it and regulate it just like any other business.

The ONLY reason it's illegal is because politicians were legislating morality. It's the same thing as gambling and drugs, a bunch of prudes say it's immoral and they criminalize it.
