Please post your Biblical references. :)

God ....Abraham + Hagar = Ishmael (Islam)
God ....Abraham + Sarah = Isaac (Judaism | Christianity)

Same God......different branches in the family tree.

Genesis 17:20
And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.

Thanks for the verses. :thumbup I have serious issues with the idea that the god of Islam is the same God of the Bible, though. The god of Islam has no Son, remember:

the Quran said:
Those who believe that Allah has a son must be admonished since this is a monstrous blasphemy and falsehood (18:4-6). Allah has never begotten a son and there are no deities beside him (23:91). Jews say that Ezra is the son of Allah while the Christians say the Messiah is the son of Allah. May Allah destroy them. They are both perverted. They worship rabbis, monks and the Messiah, the son of Mary, as Lords besides Allah in opposition to the monotheistic command given them (9:30, 31)
So how can they be one in the same? I think Islam worships a false god of their own making...a god that is far removed from the God of Ishmael's time.

Just to throw out some more verses 18-19; and 21 sums it up for me:

Genesis 17 18-19
"And Abraham said to God, "oh that Ishmael might live before You!" But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him."

Genesis 17:21a
"But My covenant I will establish with Isaac..."

Those are some hard verses for any intellectually honest Muslim to get around, imo. Ah..but they dont use the Bible. They have the Quran as their source of truth. Different Holy Book (and the veracity of that book is a whole other can of worms)..different set of laws...same God? I dont believe so.

btw..I am also a believer in Jesus Christ. :)
