Last night my mom and I were driving past Trolly Square and I said "I remember when I used to look at the Trolley Square sign and not think of shootings..." so then when I got home I wrote this:

" I Remember a Time "

I remember a time
When I used to see the Trolley Square sign
And not think of shootings and violence

When I could go to the mall
Or walk down the street
Without having to have my mothers eyes constantly on me

I used to look strangers in the eye
And not worry about being attacked
Murdered, raped, or kidnapped

I could go to the airport
And trust the security
Until an airplane crashed into the city

When my brother was at home
Instead of fighting far away in vein
Leaving me to wonder, will I ever see him again?

I remember a time
When I used to see the Trolley Square sign
And feel happy, safe, and fine

Have you not heard of Trolley Square?

I used to go to Trolley Square and run around crazy with my friends and my brother. Now it's like everyone has to be so careful with their kids. And when I used to think about Trolley Square I used to remember eating jaw breakers and playing tag, and now all I think about the shooting that happened there.
