ok so I had to call the doctors back to find out results for Kylie as far as her uti goes...yeah the nurse who talked to me said she actually didnt have one. Didnt have a uti i mean. That there were no further steps needed i could quit giving her the antibiotics and everything.

WHAT THE FUCK!

they told me when we left the office that day...that initial results confirmed she did have a uti...that she would need to get an ultrasound done to check her kidneys...that someone would fucking call me 2 days later to go over her meds see if they needed to give her stronger ones and schedule the ultrasound...now someone else tels me stop the meds it was nothing with no fucking explaniation as to why my daughter had blood in her pee.

Im about to go psychotic on them. cause on top of that the doctor who originally saw her...the one who said make sure to give her meds for 10 days...the one who confirmed a uti...will not be in the fucking office till monday...

im gonna go insane...someone better tell me what the fuck is going on here real quick or ill walk down to that office and kill them myself.

they def. just lost a patient here madmadmadmad

keep the baby on the meds until you confirm with the ordering Dr. also find out where the baby had the labs done and get a copy of the results for you records.

ok just got off the phone again...theyve fucking known since wed that she didnt need the meds. Do you know how hard it is to get a 9 month old to take something nasty tasting...and she didnt even need to.

as for results they never got sent to a lab cause they keep em for 18 hours first to check for growth...i had to schedule a follow up appt to start testing for different things now since it wasnt a uti but i serioulsy need to find another ped. for her.

im still so pissed right now...you dont fuck around when it comes to my baby girl mad:mad

Office results can come back with a false positive, while the lab results are more accurate. But Doctors do not want to send someone away that most possibly has an infection without meds as it could spread to the kidneys. If she does not however have a UTI according to the lab results, then you will need to call the doctor back on Monday and talk to him or schedule an appt with him to find out what else it could be.

If you are really concerned about her health in regards to this issue, then take her to an urgent care facility or another doctor if you can get in today.

Sometimes if you have an inexpirenced tech bad collections can get confusing and things can get miscalled and not until after culture which takes 2 days to grow out you actually cant know for sure the culture must have came back negitive, go back in and request that she have another ua and culture done just to be sure.

The doctor took the pee sample...also since theyve known since wed. it wasnt a uti...they said she needed differewnt tests now so i had to make a follow up appt. my biggest question now is where they even gonna call me and let me know this...or here i was sitting thinking the meds were taking care of it...what if its serious and im sitting here thinking its taken care of. no one called me and they didnt even call to schedule a follow up.

with the original sample taken they said she had a high count of white blood cells in her urine...whcih is why they thought it was a uti. Now i have to wait till monday to get more going on this when if they had caled me on wed when they found out...i could have gotten started on finding out what the real problem is if not really that.

large number of wbcs first step is culture, if thats negitive follow up tests to see why thats happening I understand your frustration but you need to take the steps to see what the problem is to get to the issue. That usually is the most common cause of increased wbcs in urine with blood and bacteria Im not thinking they were that off base here

I don't think they were off base, but they knew on Wednesday that her daughter didn't need to be taking the UTI medication and they didn't call her. That is the part that would have me looking for another doctor.

now that im calmer i can think straight again...gonna hold off till monday see what the doctor says...start looking for another ped. anyways just so I fell more comfortable. Though i want to see what she says too about it all.

Ya know, it might not be the doctor's fault especially when doctors employ other staff members whose job is to just make phone calls to patients. Even tho the doctor is definitely responsible for their office staff, sometimes they need to be told someone ain't doin' their job in a timely or proper manner. I complained one time and the doctor told me he was gonna fire a particular employee and he did and yes, things got better with my damn appointments.

Sometimes a doctor can be good and have lousy staff.
I like to see doctors who know what they're doin', but I also like the person who handles the insurance claims to really know their job.

I don't see why things got to where they are, but they have obviously overlooked things a bit, but am kinda with Audra, Grace & the others on this one.

They do need to look into it more, I wld have thought - is she still passing blood in her urine?

i have an appt mon with the same dr. who saw her before...so hopefuly we find out whats up cause along with that she hasnt been sleeping well at all the past few days now...and i plan on talking to the dr. too about why i wasnt called right away when they knew she didnt need to take the meds. ...shoulda saved all her damn diarrhea diapers and handed em to them when i walk in and say...here ya go...have a look at what you made my daughter have to deal with for no reason

of course that wouldnt be very nice of me so i suppose i'll have to just talk...see what they have to say about it and go from there about if i feel like i should find another doctor
