He might well be, but he's also bloody good.

They are weak up front, Aguero plays more as a second striker, Dzeko is hit and miss. So when Balotelli gets injured or sent off, they struggle. So it makes sense to put him to use.

Yep, Aguero can't play as a lone striker (which he's done a couple of times and struggled), Dzeko doesn't score enough. Ballotelli, though immensely talented is a firecracker and liable to do something stupid. City have a history of buying strikers who turn out to be crap though, the likes of Jo, Samaras, Dickov (second spell), Santa Cruz.

David Silva is just drool (1).gif but he's a midfielder.

Haha, what a game. Finishes 5-2 to Arsenal. Sagna, Van Persie, Rosicky, Walcott, Walcott.

Tottenham got their game plan right to begin with, going 2-0 up. We brought it back to 2-2, and then next England manager fucked it up and brought on VDV and Sandro and they lost all their attacking threat; and we bossed it from then on.

A hard earned win over Norwich at Carrow Road, but it's just how we roll. And it was the old timers on Giggs's special day who came out and performed, Scholes put us in front after six minutes and that's how it stayed until late on when Grant Holt seemed to have rescued what admittedly would have been a deserved point. But then they sat back and committed suicide and it cost them when Ryan Giggs, on his 900th appearance, gave us the win in Fergie time. It wasn't a great performance but it'll do, that's a tricky game passed.

Arsenal beat Spurs 5-2 in a cracking game. Spurs went 2-0 up through Saha and an Adebayor penalty which looked a bit of a dive from Bale. But Sagna and Van Persie pulled it back to 2-2 before the break, and then Rosicky and two from Walcott made it 5-2. The Arsene out brigade should be quiet for at least a week then.

Next week is huge, Liverpool vs Arsenal and then Tottenham vs us.

Sir Chesney with a fine double save from Kuyt's penalty. Justice done really because Suarez took a terrible dive.

1-0 now though, Koscielny with an own goal.

1-1, brilliant header from Van Persie.

2-1 to Arsenal in the end, Van Persie with a lovely volley to win it and that ends Liverpool's chances of finishing in the top 4 for this season, Arsenal need to keep hold of him because he really was the difference between the sides today.

As for the other games today...

I actually think Blackburn will beat Aston Villa, Man City will easily beat Bolton, I fancy Everton to get a win at QPR, Stoke and Norwich will end in a draw, ditto West Brom-Chelsea and I think Swansea will beat Wigan away. Let's see how many i get right, probably none.

Finishes 2-1 to Arsenal :D

A lucky result, no doubt, with Liverpool creating far more chances; but the difference was the quality Arsenal have up front, compared to Liverpool's lack thereof.
Liverpool, if they thought they were still in the race for fourth place, are now most certainly out of it.

Spot on.

I'd think Liverpool fans have the right to feel aggrieved, and maybe they should start voicing some real concern; considering they've spent an incredible amount in the last year.

Another interesting contrast in the middle of the park was the supposed "Alonso replacement" Charlie Adam, against Song. Song doesn't get the credit he deserves, the pass over the top at the end to Van Persie was beautiful; he's been performing this deep-lying playmaker role for a few years now, and there are few better at it in the premiership. Not bad for a player who cost 8 times less than Charlie Adam.

Blackburn drew with Villa
City beat Bolton 2-0 so pretty comfortable then
Everton drew at QPR
Stoke beat Norwich
West Brom beat Chelsea
Swansea did indeed beat Wigan

Villas-Boas surely can't have too much longer left.

He's been sacked now, not a surprise at all.

Sunderland winning 1-0 at Newcastle with 10 minutes to go, Fulham play Wolves at 2.05 and we play Spurs away at 4.10, tasty game.

Definitely sacked?

I guess Rafa will be in within a few days then if that is the case.

Possibly, Di Matteo's in for now. If I were Chelsea I'd keep Di Matteo and then go after Pep Guardiola at the end of the season. He'd clear out the old guard like he did in 2008 at Barcelona.

If he wants a different challenge (and let's face it, he's done everything he can do at Barcelona - it's like having this clean carpet which you clean every day, eventually you'll realise I've done everything I can for it) then there's a few clubs here who'd want him, Chelsea, Spurs (when Harry leaves) among others and I don't think he wants another job in Spain. But in truth I think he's taking a year's break at the end of this season because he's admitted to stress. Realistically Barca won't win the league this year but they'll probably win the Champions League, as well as the trophies he's already won this season and since 2008.

In 2008 he got rid of Deco, Guily, Edmilson, Ronaldinho, Ezquerro, Thuram (though he retired)and Zambrotta amongst others and promoted Busquets from Barca B and bought players like Dani Alves, Pique and of course started playing those young players and has been bringing them through ever since. If he went to Chelsea, the likes of Terry, Lampard and Drogba will be packing their bags.

Ended 3-1 to us, not convincing really but we are masters of winning games like that, and winning this was crucial. Adebayor had a goal ruled out in the first half which did look like a handball, just, there was enough control. Rooney headed us in front from a corner, then Young scored twice to make the points safe, the second of which was a masterpiece. Defoe pulled one back with time running out but in the end we didn't play too well but winning is all that matters. The gap is back down to 2 points with City's more difficult run coming up and on paper our easier one, it might well be overturned by the time April 30th comes around. I suspect Arsenal fans will be big fans of this scoreline too.
