Well I have sad news about my puppy. Ever since my future MIL came over and cleaned the house a few weeks ago I started noticing some strange things about my dog. It might be a total coincidence, but maybe not. Anyways, she used a ton of this glade carpet powder stuff (WAYY too much) and I noticed him coughing and gagging. He seemed to be fine whenever he was not in the house. Anyway, I took him to the vet and they didn’t see anything wrong with him and assumed it was the carpet, so I had the carpet steam cleaned.

Yesterday I took Kodi to get neutered, and the vet told me while he was unconcscious he started doing the coughing gagging thing, and their immediate instinct was to hold him upside down so he didn’t choke on vomit. As soon as they turned him over, he had mounds of this clear mucus coming out of his mouth. She didn’t tell me about that until today when I took him back there, but last night I noticed the same thing. Almost like he was coughing up big loogies. I then started to string together all the pieces in my mind, and thought that maybe all of this was related, and that the carpet had nothing to do with it. The vet told me she honestly had no clue why he would do that and that it’s very strange, possibly it could be allergies, possibly some very severe digestive issues (he has always had a problem eating...we always have to coax him), but she told us she didn’t feel comfortable diagnosing and wanted to refer us to a specialist. So that’s where we stand and we are going in next Wednesday to a specialist so hopefully if there is anything major wrong with my baby we can get it fixed. I really really hope it is just allergies. He seems to have breathing trouble at times as well…like he is congested. Almost like asthma attacks. If anyone has ever heard of anything like this then let me know please. I am dying to find out if there is anything major gone wrong.
It may sound silly but my dog is my BABY. He is a human to me.

It's not silly at all to be this worried about your animal. He's a giant part of your life, and you're very attached.

I don't know what it could be, but please, keep us posted. I really hope it is just allergies.

When I saw the thread title I was afraid he had died. I hope the specialist is able to help.

he seems to be doing a lot better today. But I still need to get him checked out for allergies, or stomach issues, or whatever it may be. The vet is referring me to a specialist that we will go see next week, and I will definitely post about what is going on here. Thank you guys for your thoughts, kodi and i appreciate it! :)

I'm REALLY worried now. Someone suggested that it might be Parvo or Distemper, both which he has had shots for, but I have been reading about parvo and that it is very hard to accurately vaccinate for it because it is a changing virus. I swear to god I will flip the fuck out if my dog has either of these. And if he deos, I KNOW he got it at the vet or the groomers. Ugh tuesday can not get here soon enough. damn holiday tomorrow.

So how is the dog doing now, good I hope. I can't even begin to think of what I would do if something happened to one of my pups.
