12x zooms pretty impressive

It has more zoom if you opt to go from optical zoom to digital .. but everytime I've tried it .. the pics have been way grainy. So I just don't use the digital zoom at all.

right........i found what i'm looking for..........when you take the moon again set the picture size at the biggest.........re-sizing down to fit the screen will sharpen it up a little

and in the metering mode in your settings set it to full metering

yea digital zooms a waste of space....stick to the optical

I always use the largest setting for my pics .. then edit them in PS and PS Lightroom later.

check out the availibilty of add-ons before you buy........once you get it you'll be picking lenses out......flash units out........and battery grips etc

you could do worse than what i have.......now its been around a while the price is coming down and extras a freely available at most camera outlets

ebay is awesome for camera supplies .. and cameras .. I got mine for $150, shoulda been way more than that.

yea........i saw a 1000mm lens at a reasonable price on there a while ago

it was longer than my arm lol

niice .. sounds like the ones they use at the track to take pics with .. they could zoom in on a flea on those guys with the lenses they have .. $10,000+ camera set ups most of them.

lol they toss them around, evidently they are fairly durable .. most of those guys use them for PT jobs .. they have regular jobs too.

i can just imagine me grovelling in the mud on a sunday morning trying to get a pic of a rabbit........then realising i have mud on my expensive lens

lol .. one of them left theirs laying in the sun for over an hour .. I finally covered it up with a sweatshirt I had in my bag .. he came back later and was like "oh yea, I got to talking to someone ...."

you're in Gatlinbuuuuuuurg!?!?!?!?!? I am so oooooo jealous right now

I live about 45 min away from Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains. Close enough to drive to and see everything, but far enough from all the crowd and tourists.

Sky... we were 1900 feet up in the air. Right before we got on we heard that someone jumped. As we were driving along in the lift we saw the guy and the medics. Theres a little store to go shopping in and an overlook after you get off the lift. Thats where we were stuck for about an hour cuz of the nut that jumped off the lift. It was a fun time tho!
