I agree with you, I would never disagree with something like that. I always found America and American people to be truly wondeful in many ways. But it's good not to forget what you disagree with, and specially if it's something that goes against your morals beliefs, so that you can change what you find unfair. Looking away from your mistakes won't make them improve by themselves, if you know what I mean.

Absolutely. And since true change starts with ourselves, when we focus on the overall bad of others or the world or our country, we are not focused on where the real change takes place - ourselves. When we are focused on society telling us we are citizens of the world and to love everyone I find it well intended, but laughable. We can not love someone all the way around the globe when we can't even love ourselves or our own neighbor that lives right next door. I'm just saying. Hope you can see what I mean. :)

Well... it's nice to see that some innocent pics have sparked such an interesting talk. I love living in America, don't think I'd enjoy livin anywhere else. but if you can't make fun of your own country, do you really deserve to make fun of anything else? :D

I very much undestand you but don't share your point of view. Loving yourself is important, and I respect everyone loving their country no doubt. Truly I love my friends more than my neighbours, I love my family more than the guy next door, but when it comes to strangers, I don't mind where they come from. When I hear that a lot of people died somwhere, like in 9/11, I won't cry less because there are no Spaniards included in the big list of humans being death.

That is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that everything has to start with us, like a ripple effect - like throwing a rock into water. If you know that the love you have for yourself is all good, you know that the love you have for your neighbor is all good, then I have no doubt that you would cry for people half way around the world. I do too. Many though do not. What I posted has nothing to do with meeting a stranger and being discriminatory about where they came from. It has all to do with people claiming to love others, but they don't even love themselves. It has all do to do with wanting to protect and defend others, but they are not even willing to protect and defend their own.

Lets just think a little deeper than superficial bullshit...
a family hates their country... they want to leave...
to leave they must buy a plane ticket or boat ticket or something for them and most likely their family...
oh wait... they dont have any money because well... no one has money except the government and the people who hold the goods in the country.
say the boat ticket costs $200 per person. they make $1300 a year. (using china for example).
ok... so now what... hrm... how about they flee to neighboring countries? oh thats right. their neighbors suck ass too.
I have a friend who came from Moldava. She and her family couldnt wait the 2 years for America to accept their application, so she had to go to Canada and marry some freak to get quick citizenship. Her former home.... much like minnesota, cold as hell, poor as hell. the citizens are broke, and they cant even afford heat. This is a lady with a phd, and is fluent in 8 languages. Herself, her daughter, and her mother all live together in a one bedroom apartment. They stand in lines for bread.
If its so f-ing bad here... why does everyone want to come here? because everywhere else sucks! its all run by evil greedy money theiving bastards that they call the government.
_thats all folks!

Not all countries/governments are that bad. But yes many, many are, I totally agree with you. And when the governments are that bad, they basically are taking the right away for people to leave. I know people first hand just as you Alley in 'predicaments' because of the country they ran from. It's sad, it truly is.
