picking on people

I love how everybody is being very careful not to say the name in question.

It's like when wrestling decided that the word "foreign" was offensive and mandated the word "international" be used.
Next night, somebody gets hit with a chair and the world is treated to the best call of all time:
"XXXXXXX has been declared disqualified for bringing an international object into the ring."

I believe we all know who the "she" is... and we all have our opinions. I don't think it's bullying... though maybe a case of piling on after the fact could be made.

Bullying to me would be if I walked up to some newb, say named Bob, and said "Bob, you suck because you're a newb. Piss off." I haven't seen any of that.

Piling on would be if somebody... say KarenIguana pulling a name at random, said something seemingly designed to piss a lot of people off and 20 people jumped poor Karen's shit for it. Maybe overkill... but not wholly unwarranted.

I was just afraid that if we used said members name we'd be accused of bullying.....again. Don't you think? I mean, I know we're all aware of who 'she ' is...but somehow naming names makes it all the more personal. JMO
 
I too thought unless you were involved personally not to PM a complaint about it. Not sure which thread this is about but if it is piling on by several people that is one thing. It is easy to have that happen but I have not noticed anything real bad but then I am a prick that enjoys a good pissing contest
 
The rules are already confusing. First it's "No third party reporting". Now, all of a sudden, it's being modified so that if you see someone being bullied or you disagree with how something is being handled you can go ahead and report that. It's leading to too many grey areas and grey areas tend to lead to confusion. Pretty soon it's going to be just like it was before the whole new rules circus.

Personally the old rules were better at least there was more order. And for me to say that takes some pride swallowing LOL.
 
If I've done any of this bullying, I'd like to know. Personally haven't seen any of it but I have noticed people taking the piss whiole V is having a baby which I think is wrong. If I'ved done sometyhing wrong, I'd like someone to tell me so I can appologise and correct the problem

I take the side of the others that GD Woman quoted. I also take GD Woman's side and believe " someone " got themselves in a lot deeper that they could crawl out of.

General bullying ... I just don't see it.

The new rules are fine just the way they are. The problem is some people just haven't taken the liberty to grow up yet.

maybe..but in this case people who had absolutely NOTHING to do with the argument/ disagreement between 2 peeps, jump in just for the sake of it, being insulting and nasty (not all, a few);)...and then the ganging up starts....and these are adults?

Oh...and the "someone" in question has defriended me, so obviously thinks I gang up and bully too.:dunno

If one cannot post in debate/political sections of discussion boards without getting their feelings hurt then they should stop posting in those sections or grow a thicker skin.

As I said somewhere in some thread, this board is T.A.M.E. compared to some discussion boards. I've seen nothing said (perhaps I've not seen every-single-post) that would cause me to whine to an Administrator of a board that I am being bullied for my opinions if they were being directed at me.

I agree that when you bite off more than you can chew, instead of whining & complaining everyone is picking on me, buck up and shake it off.

It's the internet and it's politics & religion. Two very heated topics of debate that are not for the thin-skinned. If one can't hack it one should sit on the porch.:nod:

You don't punish the entire class when one student screws up. You punish the ones that are deliberately breaking the rules and you make an example of them. Those are the ones that need the spanking so just get on with it.
 
The idea is still to not PM a complaint, and to only report if you are the party being CALLED NAMES. Not because someone is fighting with you, or because they disagree with you, or because you find a smiley offensive, or someone misspelled something, or you think it's a tacky topic, or what have you. Oh, and spam. Please report spam!

However, if you believe a mod is out of line, then please send a message to another mod and explain what is going on so they can handle it.

Does that clear up the grey area any?
