maybe i am bitter but i dont get why people vote for what they vote for
It's fair enough to be disappointed. Whether for yourself or another's pics.
It's jut unfortunate that in such a random competition, there'd be wildly varying votes potentially. I'm much more a fan of focused themes without necessarily competition (although I guess 'competition' can help drive entries).
Anyway, on topic a bit - I voted for one that isn't likely to make the final round but did so because I liked it best of the ones present.
As always - comes down to personal choice and what appeals I guess. Perhaps in a themed competition or just themed thread, whatever you feel slightly bitter about may have had a better chance.

you raise a good point - i do want to clear up something - i am not bitter for my sake alone. but i will say i am bitter for my sake a little bit.
i guess i do just have a different eye and my photography classes have left me with a bloated head that i have a better eye
which i know (deep down) i don't.

I wish I had taken photography lessons myself. I've seen how it can help people and their photographs on another forum. I wouldn't worry that you feel you have a better 'eye'. I guess the artist in us all makes us all feel that way sometimes - those of us that like to take pics that is.
Wouldn't worry about offending - you certainly didn't me in any case. I always find your candour refreshing.

I mean I am not necessarily learning skills that would make me superior than those who have not taken a class.
I just see great art photos all day. And I get my photos criticized often, which I have come to welcome.
