the sky looks discolored because you probably saved it at a low resolution??! maybe..... Or didn't use the heal tool. If GIMP HAS a heal tool....

No I did the whole picture and only had one area of discoloration. Your whole bottom half of the sky is discolored. Maybe I'll work on this pic some more and see if i can get no discoloration.
