Hello all, i am surprised no one wrote a word about history of photography, very surprising, why don't we start playing around with photography? like post things such as: "world's first photograph" world's first car photograph" "world's most expensive photograph" like that, would be fun for sure!

world's first captured permament photograph by: joseph nicéphore niépce. his research was inspired by thomas wedgewood's attempts to "capture" the photograph permamently, thomas wedgewood was able to copy scenes and images infront of him into a paper, it took a very looooong time for exposure, just to finishing taking the photograph it faded away very fast! he tried to solve the problem but a disaese claimed him at 1805, thomas was inspired by the other scientist Al-Haytham. this muslim scientist was entirelly devoted to knowledge, he was later presumed insane and set into house arrest, then he dedicated the rest of his life into science work, he is infamous with sevrel discovries and inventions that fascinite even today's scholars, the way he made images that he built a covered shack, covered from outside light except for one tiny hole, in a place where he want to capture an image. then the image will be projected from the tiny hole into the back of the shack where he put a piece of paper. and then he traced the projected image over the paper with a paint brush, thomas wedgewood attempted his own research but failed! therefor arrived joseph made his own work, untill he was able to build a camera that is able to permamently capture an image,he made his first photograph sometime in i think 1824 but it was accidentally destroyed, therefor he made an other photograph, the first and oldest surviving photograph ever taken, he made it in his house at le grasse at france, the picture in entitled:"view through a window at le gras" it was a photo through a window outside his attic to some sort of stable or shed, behide it is a grassy land with 3 trees in the background, the photo took 8 hours to exposure because the sun went around, many photographers from the globe go to the house to take their own pictures of it. here it is:

world's first underwater photograph: [/URL]

P.S. Correction.
The first underwater photograph was taken in 1856 by William Thompson. It showed seaweed and rocks in Weymouth Harbor. This photograph of a diver is from a much later era Š perhaps 1893 by Louis Boutan and it is not an underwater photograph since Boutan took his photos from a diving helmet. William Thompson's camera was immersed in the sea.

world's first colored photograph at 1861 (times of the american civil war)
