Photographers?

diane_arbus_11.jpg
Dianne Arbus - did freaks in a cool way back in the day.

lee_miller_hitler_tub_1945.jpg

Lee Miller - this is a pic of her in hitler's tub. symbolizes a lot of things.

sally_mann_immediate_family_1.jpg

Sally Mann - some say she is way twisted, but if you watch a film about her, you get it

Those are all film - no digital. And those are some I thought of in three seconds. If you want more unique people that some in your class won't choose, but it may be harder to do a report on, let me know.

:o !!!!over rated!!!! have you seen one of his prints in person!
Um.... nope. Just in magazines and on the web... and of course " his " site.

He's like a pioneer/no one will EVER be able to do with he did with his depth of field and tonal ranges!!!

He wasn't " like " a pioneer... he was a pioneer. There are many photographers over time that if you put their pic side by each to lots of his stuff you wouldn't know the difference. Lots of times it's all in the name Janie O'babe.

You don't understand. You're not a film person. :p

I was a film guy... slides actually because they were better reproductive wise than film, when you were still a sparkle in your daddy's eye.

Man ray
Eugene Smith- war photographer.

Actually thats a point. what field do you want your photographer to work in? what are you interested in?
fashion, portrait, journalism?

if you want a great story of his life and what not Eugene Smith would be a great choice. you can talk about war and then when he got injured and the iconic first picture he took when he recovered.

i went to the Diane Arbus exhibition. i wasn't all that impressed. i get the whole controversy for her time. but the actual photography in parts was not great.

I agree with you! :) We were just talking about the movie on her/about her/by her??? And she was in my head! :p

Do you know the name of the guy who did Civil War battlefields, but he moved the bodies around?

Sally did stoke up a lot of controversy with her photos of her family.

Pft AND the ones of the body farm and now the ones of her husband...and her dead dogs...chick has some issues - but she is wonderful! :)
