Entitled “Many Americans Mix Multiple Faiths,” the report points out that many Americans are now choosing to “blend Christianity with Eastern or New Age beliefs” and that “sizable minorities of all major U.S. religious groups” said that they have had supernatural experiences, like encountering ghosts.




For the first time in 47 years of polling, the number of Americans who said that they have had a religious or mystical experience, which the question defined as a “moment of sudden religious insight or awakening,” was greater than those who said that they had not.

In other words...this whole "I'm saying this tongue in cheek but really mean it we Brits are superior...Americans are inferior" crap is really getting tired. :p We have our suckiness so do you...blah blah blah carry on...

lol but we do it to the canadians, the brits do it to us an the aussies do it to everyone....

It wasn't really a thwack at Pete. I have this same exact post almost identically on a couple of other boards. I know it's the humor, etc. it just caught me on the wrong day. :p

On topic though, I think the reason people are leaning more towards the spiritual and less the religious is at the end of the day people see religion as a man made thing that is used to manipulate...where as spirituality is still about faith, belief, etc.
