I don't really care, you are against it, I could care less what they earn. As long as they are playing well, putting on good games, I really couldn't give a crap if they earn £1000 or £100000 a week.

they should.....but only the elite players, footballs part of the entertainment business now

yeah and that brings up another point really, entertainers. They also get paid way too much for doing very little.

but without the staff around them keeping it all together they're nothing. They can't get where they are without that support. Seems more than a little unfair to pay them such extraordinary wages and then pay the rest minimum wage.

That's fine and dandy, but the staff aren't the ones who are out there playing and winning the games. The player has talent, that's why he gets paid the big bucks.

... and that talent couldn't have been nurtured without the staff, the grounds not prepared, the locker rooms cleaned and maintained, the tickets sold and collected at the gate... etc etc...

I will say those jobs are important to the running of a club, but what's being overlooked is that, to the success of a football club, the players have to be there to do the stuff on the pitch. Yes they have help from the dieticians, the ground staff etc but the fact remains they still contribute more to the financial wellbeing of a football club.

I'm more bothered about greedy agents in football, perhaps people should be worried about them more.

Footballers won't always earn this amount of money, it's unsustainable. So I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Also, you have to remember these kids are pressured into dropping out of school to pursue a career that will only last a decade or so.
