Isn't the critisism being offered on a constructive level? I dont know too much about the technical side of photography but I haven't seen any thing really negative here.:dunno

Its better than plastic kiss arse comments anyway, well that's just my opinion.
Maybe...but personally I don't post my photos here for criticism or praise...I post them to share them. And if a beautiful tender moment between my nephew and niece isn't perfect in another's eyes b/c the balance of the photo is off, I really don't care. *shrugs* Maybe it's just me.

Nope, no family photos here. I understand what you're getting at
though if these were family pictures. :)

True...but it HAS been done before. The point I was trying to make, though, is that the OP was just sharing a cool new thing w/ us...not asking for our critiques. No big deal...it was just something that came to mind when I read the thread.

</end hijack> Sorry folks. ;)

To critique means to find fault and I don't have a problem with that providing the person knows what they are talking about. In the case of the one negative poster it's clear he didn't have a clue and based his comments on his personal thoughts. From what I can tell he didn't bother to extend the energy to even read the link I supplied. If a person doesn't educate himself he can't critique, he can only state his personal thoughts. That's ok too cuz I try and learn from it all. Ya can't please everyone. :surrender

Those are really good, I know how much time is involved in doing that.

I did one a while back for a friend of mine, he was in Scotland and email a pic to me. So I made it an "Out of Bounds" pic and sent it back to him. I didn't have a lot of time to work on it, but this was the pic I sent him.

Don't mind the graininess of the pic, I had to keep the file size small to email it to the dial-up he was on in Scotland.

Tim thanks for posting that. Apologies aren't necessary btw. I like it but if it was me doing it I would have had a few more of the guards on the oob side. Like 1/3 of 'em maybe. That's not a critique btw, it's an opinion. I hope you don't mind.

They are quite a bit of work eh.

Simple method, which can be used in many different ways. Not too keen on the tutorials, but if it's helped you then that's good. I think your typo work could use some re-thinking, mainly when you have put the bold text inside the 'frames' which draws attention away from the actual photograph. Also, if the frame in the last picture has a shadow against the background gradient, why doesn't the planes wing? :p The wing shouldn't actually be outside the frame at that part, but if you want it that way, you should have the wing overlapping the frame.

Keep up the work.

I probably would have done more of them outside the frame, but I had limited time to do it. So I chose to do fewer.
Next time you do one, try to get the item that's out of bounds to cast a shadow, it will really add to the realism.

And don't worry about any critique, I don't mind at all :D It's good to hear what others think.
