Allow me to correct you: Social Programs are important but only good when constructed to be sustainable... Democrats are currently better then Republicans, although not all that good overall. (I used to be a Republican. Now I'm an Independent.)

Think that says more about the stereotypical USA attitude to the rest of the world than anything. Cant even say if you think I'm Liberal, Conservative or other.

By the way, I dont see Tim or in fact most people here as sheep to the Republican or Democrat cause (apart from Retro ) Most seem to have their own ideas which I either agree or disagree with. Ok, some seem more right or left than others but most seem to be able to make their own mind up about at least a couple of things.

I'm definitely not a democrat, they are just as crooked as the republicans, but my views and beliefs are definitely liberal.
As far as Obama... I would vote for him again and I am very happy that he is president vs McCain/Palin. But I am not happy with his presidency at all. He is a corporatist continuing to give the country away while calling himself a democrat. He is not a liberal/socialist/communist/etc like the right paint him. He is up the ass of the corporations and continues to do their bidding.

Remember, I fully believe that everything, every issue we all fight about is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Issues designed to divide us while the country is being stolen out from under us by both parties. Again, having liberal views doesn't make me a democrat just as having conservative views makes you a republican. I think we are all pissed about the same things, we just view it differently because of the bullshit each side feeds us. We are meant to be distracted by that shiny coin over there while they lift our wallets.

Damn! Thats seen as extremely right wing over here, even most Conservatives want the Welfare state! I always saw Libertarians as pretty much the same as the Lib Dems, somewhere in the middle but pussies who jump on the side of whoever is winning.
