I'm about to go HGTV on my apartment with the help of a friend. My goal is to knock it out before Matt gets home at 10, so about 8 hours from now.

I'm running out of ideas, and figured I'd ask y'all. What are your favorite ways to get (and stay!) organized?

For however important it is, we don't quite have 1000 sq ft, so we're pretty cramped.

I love HGTV!

What area of your house are you trying to organize? Are we talking like big picture stuff or junk drawer type of stuff?

I have a cubby thing for my yarn that needs revamping. I need to get a bigger filing cabinet, Matt wants some "him" space in the bedroom. I have stuff on top of both dressers....

There's like no counter space in the kitchen and the table really doesn't fit anywhere, so it looks bad, and right now it's blocking an entry into the kitchen so it can extend my counter space and I've got TV trays set up under the window to get more space too.

I have a "linen" closet that's all of 6 inches deep, so I have all my extra beauty stuff in there- polish, extra shampoos, washes, lotions, etc. And some tools :) It's cluttered and any time it gets opened, someone is risking losing a toe from falling objects.

And under the bathroom counter is just ridiculously full.

I've got a desk we took apart and there are pieces behind an entertainment center, a chair and under the bed. And in different closets... it's kind of in pieces everywhere.

I have two HUGE rubbermade containers in the back of our closet that have out-of-season clothes. And then there's a roller under the bed, along with some crafting stuff.

Our laptops kind of live on the coffee table and it drives me crazy. And the printer is on the desk by the door. Under the desk, I have even more yarn.

We're just suffocating right now. I need to hide things better, or at least make them look nicer. And kind of cheaply, too.
