opinions on AIM

Ok I have a question for you all that I want your opinion on.
Question #1-When you are on AIM chatting with someone do you feel that conversation is something that is private and shouldnt be shared with anyone?

Question #2-Would you consider it gossip if someone shared the things you discussed, or that they were even AIM friends with you?

The poll is for the first question I just want your opinions on the second question

Doesnt matter where the conversation takes place, whether it be AIM, over the phone, or whatever. Unless it is common knowledge or fact, it shouldnt be shared unless you have the espress acknowledgement that its ok to do so.

if it's just everyday BS then that's exactly what it is. BS isn't meant to be kept private, thats why its BS. If someone came to me in confidence no matter what the means of communication was, then most certainly it should be kept private.

No, it shldn't be kept private, but how wld we Know tho? Could be a gd handful here for all we know (no offence to anyone, but you know...) Forum owners are not to know at the end of the day.

I know what some are like, how they get chatting etc (grooming), but it'd take a while to know.

That's y I dnt let my son go in chatrooms, y I dnt give out info on him too much.

I dnt think he wld be tempted to meet anyone, but I will never take that chance.

I wldn't show pics of him on comp either. Paedo's can and do alter them, to their fantasies .

I think at times, I may be a bit 'old' in my ways, but I am happier that way knowing I am doing all I can to help prevent the worst...

Otherwise, I am up for a laugh, dnt act my age and lighten up on other things.

I barley use AIM. If I want to contact friends I just use facebook or myspace.

depends. if someone IMs me and is not a friend, but shares information with me that i believe others should know, then yes i will tell whoever i feel needs to know. If this person is a friend i will keep my mouth shut though.
