on this date in 1886

i weent on a boat ride to ellis Island and saw the statue. Didn't go up to the island it may have been under construction then. I was in New York for a trip on the history of the Holocaust an after school group went on in junior high.

The Holocaust museum here in Miami is amazing. I went in the 5th grade and got to meet some survivors. Their stories were incredible. I still remember them showing us the tattoos they were branded with, the names they were given. We truly have so much to be grateful for to have a country that is free. For now anyway. With the office in tow now, we won't have our liberties much longer.

I guess it's so easy to forget history...

If it wasn't for all the help (Military, money, technology, aid, resources) that France gave us during the Revolution, we would never have defeated the English. We could still be an English colony if it wasn't for the French...

And for that, I thank the French.

I think we've more than paid them back for that by now, we've saved their asses on more than one occasion.
