(Sorry if this is in the wrong spot)

So we're going to Playa del Carmen in 3 weeks - there's a cooking school owned by a Canadian lady not far from where we'll be staying that I'd LOVE to attend a day class; the only problem is that I'd have to book it online now and I'm nervous about giving my credit card.

It *sounds* like an "above board" place and has been in business for several years, but I'm still hesitant....any suggestions?

I thought about a prepaid Visa but I'm not sure on the security of that either...I could get the card and then show up and they might say they have no record of my reservation and I'd be out the coin....

I've emailed with the owner, at least she claims to be the owner, and she seems nice, etc. but maybe it's a good game. I can't see anything else online about the place (reviews, etc) except their own site....

Never thought of that...I'll have to look. I know NOTHING about PayPal (just heard of it, that's it), but if you're suggesting it, I'm assuming it's safe.

How about getting the place you are staying to handle it and bill you when you get there. They should know of her and if it is legit.

Thought of that, but the site says seats are filling up and if it IS legit, I want in! Good point though, thank you.

And the simplest answer is always the winner...I'm soooo used to doing everything online, never even thought of picking up a phone. Thank you. But.....that could still be a scam....ugh, I'm overthinking.

Does Mexico have a chamber of commerce? That sounds so bad....I know. I don't know why I didn't see the tripadvisor info while searching at work, but here it is, actually makes me feel safe...going to book it.
