Make sure when you go, that you actually try it on your skin. Colognes smell different on different people because of the reaction with your own body chemistry. A lot of the colognes should have a lotion alternative, so you can put a couple dabs on your arms and/or hands and walk around the mall smelling them. It's expensive stuff. You should be sure.

It's weird how that works, eh? I smelled this stuff called Black Amethyst at Bath & Bodyworks once and didn't like it all. I sprayed some on myself, though, and later, as I was wandering through the mall, I smelled myself and thought it was awesome. I went back and bought some and it's my favorite cologne now.

This all just reminds me of those people in malls that are trying to sell lotions and they just pounce when you walk by. I've had a few follow me until I tried their lotion.

In their defense it is very nice lotion. Makes my hands feel a smooth as a baby's bottom...without the diaper smell :thumbup

I worked there a few years back and knew just about every smell. You walk around in there for 8 hours and you just can't help but smell it all and wear it all. I don't know if they still have it, but there was a collection of scrubs and lotions. I know came in an orange container and had tamarind in it. Anyhow, I got the vanilla stuff- the whole line- because I loved it. Put it on... yuck!

Oh! Go to Victoria's Secret and try the new Velvet. I love the way it smells, but it gives me migraines. The perfume is all warm and ambery, and the lotion is sweeter. And they say the lotion is supposed to have a 4 hour scent life, or something like that, but mine held for over 24.
