I guess everyone now knows the whole kangaroo-riding thing is a load of rubbish (would it even be physically possible? haha), but a myth that seems harder to shake is the Foster's one. Sure, Australians love beer (probably no more than the British), but not that many people actually drink Foster's. Instead, it generally goes by state: Victorians drink VB and Carlton Draught, NSW people drink Tooheys, Queenslanders drink XXXX, etc. I've drunk all of those myself, but never cracked open a Foster's personally.

Of course, we could blame many people for all these stereotypes, but I think the blame lies quite squarely with THAT Simpsons episode. The worst thing about it was the accents - what was that, some combination of Scottish and Pakistani? :|

lol, most of them are, pretty, well, fair dinkum. ;)

Some are a little suspect. I can't say I've ever used 'you pong', 'he's blotto' or 'wanna rage?' before, maybe they're becoming a bit of a thing of the past (or the country), lol.
