She just called, and I offered to send her a picture of the apple pie. That was her request. She said she's hardly eaten today and it's making her bitchy, so no, she doesn't want to see food. Well, okay then. She was laughing when she said it, so whatever.

But then, oh God, I love my parents. "If your father ever wants to have sex again he'll pull off and get me food."

"Well, Momma, I'm not sure if I'm rooting for you to eat or not."

She liked that.

I must admit, I am excited for them to come into town.

cute. hope she gets plenty to eat. wouldn't want pops all upset.

my folks are pretty funny like that too but they're probably much older. i have a feeling your parents are my age.

a few years ago, they bought themselves a new double wide bathtub with jacuzzi jets. when i commented on how much more fun that was than their bed, dad turned beet red, mom gave me that screwed face look and said 'we don't talk about that'. they're about to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary next month.

i hope you all have parents that can love each other and you that long.

My parents are mid 40s. I love that as I'm getting older they are becoming less "parental" and more "people". My mom is quite seriously one of my best friends.

Your parents remind me of my Dad's parents! My favorite picture of them is not too old, they're in their 70s, and he is cupping her breast! :24:

nnngaa! now i feel old. i'm at least ten years older than your folks (56) and my folks will be 83 next may.

my parents rarely were affectionate or playful like that in public, but hoo-ha! behind closed doors? when we were kids their bedroom door was always open unless they were wrapping christmas presents or doing the nasty when they knew we weren't sleeping.

one time we were on a road trip and when we checked into a motel for an overnight, they sent us off to the pool for a while so they could 'take a nap'. apparently we didn't stay away long enough and they left the door unlocked. i opened it and there was dad at the top of his stroke. freeze that frame for about a half second. fortunately for them, they were under a sheet, so dad could just roll over and try to pretend that we hadn't seen anything. didn't work and my sister busting out laughing didn't help either.
