RE: oh man i just got the sweetest pair of jeans on this pla
hey hurt, i just read this really long thread (dont ask me why

) and thought id throw my .02$ in.
first of all, dont get so defensive. IF you really dont care what people think, then least of all you should care about what people on an internet board think.
BUT at the same time, id like to point out a few things (and again dont take this personally since i have nothing against you personally...)
first, you say you dont care about what people think in this regard. well, in at least one post you said you "did it becasue everyone else did". excuse me if a got the quote wrong but thats the gist. well, for the record, doing something becasue 'everyone else did' especially with regards to clothes, is precisely the definition of "caring what people think". but lets give you the benefit of the doubt here and say you actually do it becasue you like the way it looks. that way we can believe you when you say you dont care about other opinions.
fine.
the other thing, and what you dont seem to want to accept, is that it is not as common or popular as you think. yes some people do it, but you know what, i live in NYC, one of the most diverse places on the freaking planet, and i barely see that kind thing. and im talking in the subways, on the buses, uptown, downtown, east, and west. yes there a LOT of different styles around here, but i barely EVER see the popped collar. (just a reminder becasue at this point it probably sounds like im attacking you - im not, im just pointing out observations). when do i see them though you might ask? good question. i see them when i see groups of rich kids wearing a brand name on every article of clothing on their bodies. (and no im not speculating, assuming people are rich and stuck up etc..., rather this is coming from observing that most of the times ive seen this type of thing, its with people i KNOW are rich stuckkupjerkssnobs whatever you wanna call it) and at the same time, when i see the people who i know are a little more down to earth, its pretty much nonexistent. and when i say down to earth, i dont mean "cheap" or whatever, but rather i mean people who *really* dont care about what people think. yes they may dress well, and want to look good, but that does not entail following silly trends and fads.
im not in the mood to go on but you get the point.
anyway sorry if this annoyed you or whatever, like i said, no hard feelings or anything,
~Art
