That's very odd. It's good that you defended your mother in law!

Not the OP's MIL since they aren't married.

Sounds like the relationship is doomed for numerous reasons. Get out of the relationship and "family". Put it to you this way, if you've got to be the one for common sense for both your boyfriend and his mother and you become the butt hole for having a set, your life is going to become hell, or even worse, you're going to become a big prick in their eyes.

Andy sounds like he doesn't have any common sense and he has no balls.

Yes, lets give someone who isn't a family member a car, and put them on our car insurance policy, particularly if they have had a "spotty" driving record, and better yet, on MOM'S insurance policy.

I shouldn't ask, but why are they giving this guy a car when he already has one? (you said he can't add another car to his insurance policy)

i disagree about our relationship being doomed. In fact i dont think our relationship really comes into it, other than the fact that i would have liked to have had more support at that moment, instead of him trying to keep the peace, which i dont blame him for doing. I wanted to make a point to the friend that it is not acceptable to speak to my bfs mum in the way that he did. I was outraged that after the fact she was doing him a favor and rightfully wanted to know the ins and outs, that he reacted to agressively. The mum is ill, she is annoying yes, but does not deserve to be treated like that.

Good for you for standing up to him. Personally I wouldn't dream of putting someone (other than family) on my insurance policy and your b/f should not have put his mother in that situation in the first place.

It's a car they've had in the drive for ages. This guy fixed it up and is going to sell it. It needs to be insured so it can leave the drive way. We don't want it/ have no need for it so as the guy can't add any more cars to his own policy, they are adding it under Andy's mum policy with this guy as the main driver. He is paying the insurance on it. Cos she's ill she asks alot of questions which tbh she is well within her right to do. She worries about stuff easily. She doesn't want left paying the insurance. So he shouted at her really aggressively he was annoyed at her asking questions. I pulled him up on it cos he has no right to act that way to her.

oh right ok, that makes more sense! Well, atleast she had one person to stand up for her anyway, it doesn't say much about his character that he'll act that way towards a sick woman who's doing him a favour. How did he react to you telling him off btw?

He tried to justify it with a childish "but she's annoying". I told him I don't care it's disgusting and she desearves better. He looked pissed off I think it hurt his ego for some one to confront him. I later found out he told Andy to get his gf trained at which point Andy told him he took it too far and I was right to have a go at him. he left in a huff. But that all happened when I was writing my rant to you guys. I had to walk away before I hit him.

If I had known at the time I'd have flipped out tbh. But he's just childish. He's a 60 yr old man. Grow up! Do not bully some one into doing stuff for you! And do not treat the only people who welcome you into their home like 2nd class citizens! Needless to say this man has few friends and even they don't really like him.

Sounds like Andy needs to man the fuck up. If someone started shouting at and talking to my mum like that I'd knock their head off, no questions asked!

It's always an excellent idea to share incredibly personal stories with strangers online.

You're one to talk.

Is it a better idea than randomly PMing females on the board asking if you can write erotic stories about them?

Not the reason women join this forum.
