The right wing media have been doing their usual lazy journalism with an agenda about this, over here. Nothing about the real issues but just a bunch of empty claims that the protesters are doll scroungers and should have their benefits taken away from them.

Interesting pics from Down Under, Cam. Thanks for posting them. I was not familiar with Chomsky until just the last few years My conservative upbringing discouraged me from people like him. It is unfortunate we box people in with labels. Labeling shuts down inquiry and therefore limits knowledge. Individuals are far more complex than the beliefs they espouse. I appreciate Chomsky's writings and though I don't agree with everything he believes, I find some elements of truth in his writings and he stimulates my critical thinking skills.

that would make sense if Wall St. made the rules
right message but wrong place to protest it.

You are aware there are Occupy protests in DC and that a group from OWS NYC is making the trek on foot from NYC to DC (ETA-11/23), aren't you? In light of the fact that Mayer Amsel Rothschild once said "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws", it seems they are targeting the right place.

That's cute & catchy, but the problem isn't lack of enforcement, but regulations designed to encourage the behavior we got. If they made park rules like they do bank regulation, parks would be a nuclear dumping ground with kids skateboarding over parked cars, and Washington picking up the tab for any medical bills.Ain't that the truth!
Wall Street didn't break any rules.

I guess I skipped the whole page this post was on back when it was originally posted. I just wanted to point out that the signs in this pic could have been in a Tea Party rally back when they were going on. This is how much the repubs (eta: and liberal media) have distorted the movement's original purpose. Thinking, original Tea Partiers should be supporting OWS.
These are the images MSM doesn't want you to see and there are many who supported the Tea Party (me for one)who are supporting OWS. Other signs not shown said

There were many more that presented a more conservative view point but it serves to show that contrary to public opinion shaped by media, this is a movement for the voice of all people to be heard which is why I don't understand the need for people to take sides.
If there appears to be an overwhelming influence of one particular school of thought, there is nothing preventing others with a different school of thought from joining in and shaping the message. Also, I have found in keeping tabs on the various camps around the country that region has a great influence so that when the focus is on Occupy Oakland, it is very obvious that it is more liberal leaning but you have to consider the locale. A friend of mine in Little Rock says their group is overwhelmed with Libertarians and our group in OKC has a lot of conservative support. To me, it is not necessarily the activities in the big cities that are telling but those in the smaller towns and cities.
It is obvious to me that the perceptions of those who have demeaning view of the movement are formulated by what they see on media. Many involved with Tea Parties at local levels are livid that the idea has been propagated in the press that their movement has been coopted by the Koch Brothers. They've never seen or talked to the Koch Bros. and many never knew they existed until their name was associated with the Tea Party. Either these are grass roots movements or the people are being duped into serving the interests of the elite on both sides. If that is the case, it is time for the people to coopt these movements, unite them and use the power of a people united to force the changes needed in politics, economics and finance. How would the media spin that?! Bottom line, the signs presented in the photo are the signs that point out the core problems needing change and both sides can agree on that.
