I had jury duty today and saw that occupy Allentown was going strong. They had tents, signs and lawn chairs set up. It looks like they were there for a while and that they are set up for the long haul.
I need to find out where I can go on the 15th for the global change rallies. I may head into New York or maybe Philadelphia... both are an hour from me

Sean Hannity has been commenting on his show that the Occupy Wall Street protesters are "un-American and hate freedom". What a fuckwit! These two Marine Veterans tell Sean Hannity to fuck off.

OK, a few shots from the small OOKC gathering. We got there a little late after the General Assembly has been held. It was pretty much just a meet & greet & planning session. Pretty good coverage on the news tonight - the local FOX station was actually "fair and balanced".

These young people in this first pic are part of the communications team. Lots of regular folks there as you can see. I'm hoping the movement will grow. We plan to attend a rally this Saturday and as many as possible in the future.

now the Sydney one could possibly be doable.

my daughter flies back into Oz the day before, and I was thinking about going down and surprising her.

OH.....SHIT...I cant....I have the Cold Chisel concert on the 4th.

I know she (my daughter) will be very interested though

I got no problem with civil protest. As a young teenager I witnessed much of it in the hippy days.

I hope this gets a fair comparison to the Tea Party rallies.

Because they are totally different. Not talking about the substance of the protest but the actions of the protesters.

I think the Occupy people are bunch of young people who are as frustrated as the hippies were about Viet Nam. Both appear to have an entitlement mind set. IMO

And don't take that as a sign I am in support of Wall Street. I was one that was against the bank bailout. Bush started that and Obama continued it. So much for hope and change.

Vote for Ron Paul if you want to see something actually done to stop this crap

How do you get that? Sense of entitlement?

You really aren't listening to what these people are saying, are you?

Take a look at this site and see what people are saying... there is no filter here or media bias. Just the words right from the people.

Damned straight they're totally different

Then you are clearly not thinking or listening to the bullshit put out by the Wall Street media.

And don't take that as a sign I am in support of Wall Street. I was one that was against the bank bailout. Bush started that and Obama continued it. So much for hope and change.

Then you should support OWS because that is their primary issue.

Vote for Ron Paul if you want to see something actually done to stop this crap

He is the only Republican that is not completely in Wall Streets pocket, I'll give you that. But the power lies in the federal legislature - and Americans overlook them and look to the peacock in the White House for action or blame.

A very well done short video - watch the pollies talk......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjfhOPCPJnE&feature=player_embedded

We watched this last night. This is a good one.

hehehehehehehehehehehehe....... the best way to expose a police state is to act like one where every one can see it in all it's hypocrisy... Methinks our politicians talk out of both sides of their faces.... lol

If we weren't trying to hold down our jobs, keep our roof over our heads and keep our kid's life steady - generally being responsible, we'd seriously consider being there too.

I'd consider 'sponsoring' a 'protestor' but those frills ain't in the budget either. Sadly.

We've come along way since before the Dubya administration. Not in a good way either. They all sit pretty while the rest of us.............

There was one here the other day. I had to work. I don't get sick days and we need the measley amount I brought in that day.

I have a feeling, if money/responsibility were no object, a lot more of the 99% would be taking to the streets? Perhaps I'm still too comfy? We both have jobs and are not in foreclosure. (kwx3) Sadly, that's not the case for a lot of people out there.

We have to participate after work and on weekends. I'm highly impressed with the committment of the OWS people. There is a core group and people come and go in large numbers. Some folks are taking their vacation to participate. You never know - I might get a wild hare and head up there next month.

Then why doesn't she pay more in taxes on her own? Or donate the money she thinks she should be taxed to non-profit organizations that will help people the way she believes they should be helped?

I think the idea is there, but as usual, the loudest ones are the crazy ones that may be making this look bad.

Was this headed by anon? I thought I remembered this being part of their global change coalition thing they had a video floating around the internet about a few months ago.

Either way, I support the concept even if I don't support every ideal stated in that blogger's list of demands. Something has to change. Clearly.
