Mans calls 911 after Burger King runs out of lemonade

Saturday, February 07, 2009
BOYNTON BEACH — A man was charged with misusing 911 today for a midnight complaint that a Boynton Beach Burger King had run out of lemonade, police say.
Jean Fortune, 66, dialed 911 and told dispatchers he was "unhappy with his order" at the Burger King at 1521 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., according to an arrest report.

When a Boynton Beach police officer arrived, the cashier told him she had informed Fortune at the drive-thru that the store no longer served lemonade. He became angry when he picked up his order at the window and threatened to call police.
The cashier told him to "Go ahead."
The officer noted in his report that Fortune could not explain why he resorted to calling 911 for a "civil dilemma."
He was issued a notice to appear in court.

And 2nd story:

Man shoots television after DTV tantrum

A Missouri man is charged with unlawful use of a firearm, after peppering his T-V with bullets.
Police responded to a home in Joplin Wednesday after reports of shots being fired inside.
The 70 year old homeowner was angry that he had lost his cable, and was unable to get his new DTV converter to work properly.
After a brief standoff, the man was taken into custody. His wife told officers the suspect had been drinking.

Already knew there would be these tribes still around in some parts of the rain forests. Makes me angry to think of the workers killing these innocent, helpless tribes solely for land, and money.

Apocalypto is a very good film about these kinds of tribes.

Wasn't there just recently that bird who went apeshit and called 911 three times because BK didn't have the right burger she ordered or something? No wonder its only students and illegal imigrants who want to work there!:willy_nilly:

Yeah, I think that was a story recently, Peter. I had to sorta google it to remind me, but I think you're right.

:24: Makes sense of people who'd even want to work there LOL

Wow, that's really cool. I had no idea there were still uncontacted tribes in the world. It's also not surprising they would be aggressive towards the plane. I think we should try to contact them, but by foot and not by plane.

My name is pronounced like "Deekurt" the W at the end is silent. And as you probably noticed this isn't exactly the busiest thread, post as many Stories as you want in here, nobody will mind.

i thought so too. that's why i brought it here.

it's overwhelming how much bizarre shit there is going on everyday we can learn about online. couple that with the cool shit, important shit, and the usual shit and that we can share and discuss this shit with pen pals in real time from all over the world.

i don't know about you, but i think that's some outfuckenstandingly hot shit and the best entertainment i know.

in many ways i feel like this whole system has been built around responses of people like me and my classmates, the sputnik kids, who were raised and trained on the technology as it was released.

Mexican painter Diego Rivera dies of heart failure. Earlier as a student, Rivera claimed to have purchased cadavers and experimented with Cannibalism. Human dining preferences included breasts and brains. Also in his autobiography he wrote that he had cancer of the penis, doctors recommending amputation. Both stories are considered somewhat suspect.

Japanese playwright and novelist Yukio Mishima commits seppuku (self disembowelment) after an aborted coup attempt in Japan. He had authored over 100 works and was deemed by Life magazine the "Japanese Hemmingway"; certainly he is one of the best writers Japan has ever produced. But Mishima believed that "true manhood" required you to face your own death willingly.

[h=1]Boy, 4, bids on $29,990 train[/h]
For a moment, Metlink, the public transport arm of Greater Wellington Regional Council, thought all its dreams had come true when it received an opening bid of $29,990 for an old train.
But it turned out the Trade Me bid was from an enthusiastic 4-year-old whose mother was alarmed at the prospect of owning a retired full-sized two-carriage unit.
