Not a good day for my wife.

She woke with a Migraine. Did not feel well all day. She got off a little early and was headed home. While sitting at a light the car behind her chose not to stop at the red light. She has a bruised knee and aslight seatbelt burn and is achy.

Brutal. Did she go to the doc? I was in a similar accident ages ago and was 'just achy' only to find out 3 or 4 months later when the pain in my chest wasn't going away that I had cracked 2 ribs because of the seatbelt and they healed wrong....I went through hell.

Hope she feels better today.

Well on the positive side... now you have a good excuse to go get a new car... I bought my wife a 2010 Camaro SS just because her old 98 Z-28 was gettin old...

I have a son in college. No new vehicles until he is self-supporting.

Got the word. $2100 worth of damage. Going this afternoon to pick up a rental car. Should get it back first part of next week.

This just keeps being FUN! The car is ready. The car repair place wants me to bring him a check when I pick up the car. The car rental place wants the rental car back today and....wait for it.....The insurance company put my check in the mail Saturday. What do people do who are making it pay check to pay check without any savings put back for a rainy day? By the way it is suppose to rain today too.

Speaking as someone in about the same financial boat, make whatever transportation arrangements that are the most cost-effective, if not the most convenient, and hope for the best. The most important thing is that the spouse is OK. Might be a good idea to see the doc just to be on the safe side. Sometimes injuries don't present themselves right away.

Oh, and pack an umbrella.
