Soooooo... I can stop my Warfaren as of today. frigging appointment with my regular doctors office was a joke. Got there early got in early. Hurry up and wait.... For a doctor whose never seen me before nor was briefed about anything going on so he had to look at the frigging computer. my Pulmonary doctor told me I could stop the warfaren, the reg dr. not knowing my history told me i should take an aspirin a day.... UGH NO! I don't have heart problems nor am I predisposed to blood clots. Frigging morons.

I'm hoping my face clears up a bit since I think the Warfaren was effecting my skin.

Because i find it unnecessary. if i had heart troubles i could see it...

Aspirin is a blood thinner and even though you don't have heart trouble ( that you know of ) it's used as a preventative measure. Remember you were on the other stuff for a reason so better safe than sorry is the way I look at it. Aspirins save a lot of lives every day Dana.

but why should i take aspirin that this doctor suggests who ive never seen before when my Pulmonary doctor never suggested it? Wouldn't you think he would of said something?

It doesn't matter how many times you've seen that doctor he's in the know a lot more than you are and you should of asked him right then and there. As far as the other doc not recommending it maybe he forgot. They can't think of everything. If you're going back to see the Pulmonary doctor ask him for his opinion. One aspirin a day won't kill you but it sure can help you.

I forget did you have a blood clot or something? that would be why they want you to do it and like Guy said what would it hurt in the longrun its not like they are having you take a horrendous amount daily

Gotta say, it wouldn't hurt you in any way to take the aspirin, so why not. Just because the doctor hasn't see you before doesn't mean he can't make sense of your notes. If your pulmonary doctor then says there's no point, you haven't lost anything, if he says it's a good idea then you've got a head start.

But everything was fine. They think it was a freak thing My weight coupled with my medical issues. I really don't think I'll get another one if I keep on the path I started 6 months ago. Besides I'd be more inclined to take the advice if the pulmonary doctor gave it to me. Like I said I've never seen the reg. doctor until yesterday and I only saw him because my other doctors schedule was booked. He had no idea of what the helll happened and wasn't even briefed. If you're seeing somebody elses patient wouldn't you get the run down on him? i know it was a one time deal. But if that happened everytime I had to change neurologists it wouldn't fly. So I'm less inclined to take the advice of a doc who doesn't even know my history.

That's why your doctor has a file on you and if he's any good his notes are up to date. Any doctor should be able to read them and take it from there which is exactly what he did. What's the big deal about never seeing him before?
