As the Heartbleed Encryption Bug has been roaming around the internet totally undetected for the past two years and is now being called one of the internets biggest security threats - apparently we should all be worried and it is being recommended that no one should be complacent about its existence.

Especially as this bug affects the vast majority of servers in the World and pretty much everything we use online on a regular basis - such as - emails, bank accounts / credit card transactions, instant messaging etc as it was and is quite possible that hackers are or were able to steal a treasure trove of personal information totally undetected.

So as it is now recommended that anyone who spends time online - whether it only be to surf or just play games - should check that their personal information hasn't been compromised.

I've discovered a very useful tool that I hope will be helpful to everyone for doing just that - which I also think will be helpful to anyone worried about whether or not a site is secure - as not only does it give details of which sites have been reported as being affected but also whether or not they installed a fix - its also great for checking the security of sites that you use regularly - the link for which you will find here

https://lastpass.com/heartbleed/

as well as another link - which contains things that you can do to help protect yourself against the Heartblleed Bug

I've been using LastPass for a while now and it's so simple. I can't believe I went so long without using it. Their password generator is awesome, as well.

I might be wrong, but I also don't think LastPass was affected by the Heartbleed Bug? I seem to remember getting an e-mail about that.

Another great thing about using a password keeper, or some other type of password storage, is that it's incredibly easy to go through and change all your passwords if a situation like this happens. You have your "vault" that holds all of your passwords and you can go through quickly and change them if need be. Incredibly easy and makes you feel a lot safer, and secure.
