New or sequel?

Do you like it when your favorite author writes a brand new novel or do you like it when they write a sequel to a novel they've already written? Which one do you prefer?

I haven't read a lot of sequels but if I like the author and his books, I would be interested in sequels as well as new.

Well, when it comes to Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean series then I'm looking forward to the next sequel in that series.

When it comes to Darcy Coates, then I'm looking forward to the next new book.

It depends on which author it is.
