Banning texting while driving doesn't stop texting while driving. It only makes the driver move the phone from the top of the steering wheel to the lap, making it even more difficult to do both activities.

I've heard rumbling that they're going to try to make distracted walking a crime, too, because people walk into traffic while texting.

Texting bans make no sense to me when most states have a law against distracted driving in the first place. Why can't we just enforce the laws we already have instead of adding more to the books?
There are a lot of things that should be singled out if they are going to single out texting!

it's a stupid law...who is to say the person is texting. you gonna pull them over cause they are looking at their phone pushing buttons. shit you could be looking at the gps on your phone or looking through your music. some states have a cell phone ban while driving. if your gonna have a texting ban...you might as well have a cell phone ban while driving
