It's that time of year again :nod: All the Oranges are in bloom. Their scent is everywhere around town as there are groves all around town. It's permeated the house :cool I love rural-living.

Right now it smells good. In a few days/weeks they'll start to get a bit sickly-sweet smelling before they stop which isn't quite as nice. But for now it's all good :cool

Plus the WildFlowers are starting to bloom. They're all over the sides of the roads and in the medians here. One of these years I'm gonna take the camera w/me and capture their beauty.

Yep, Spring is here in FloriDuh.

I feel bad for all y'all still dealing w/snow and crappy weather. Don't hate me. Remember, when it's Autumn where you are I'll still be Roasting in Hell for another couple of months.:nod: But for now, the a/c is still off and life is Springy.

What are the signs of Spring that y'all look forward to? How do you know it's finally on the way?

I thought this was going to be a thread about going without deodorant :ninja

I'm glad spring is almost upon us :) it's just started getting sunny around here instead of being grey all the time. I lost my photography mojo for most of January because I hate grey skies, now the suns out I can look forward to some sunshiney shots!

My favorite seasons are Spring and Fall, and I'm really hoping we will get some spring weather this year, because I'm not enjoying what we have right now..

Spring has missed this part of NJ for the last three or four years, and it looks we are going to have more of the same this year..
We still have some patches of frozen snow and ice under the big oaks by the creek.. they have grown so much in the last few years, that I have no sunny places to plant my veggies anymore..:(

We went from very cold, to very rainy, hot and humid last year, and then, in one day, early last fall, went from AC during the day, to turning on the heat that same nigh.. so we missed the Fall weather!!.. :mad

The weather has really gone nuts everywhere.. :eek

I heard the first peepers last night, and that is the first sign that Spring is around the corner, but it is really too cold for them tonight, so no little froggies around..

As much as I dislike the wild Wisteria chocking everything in sight, I'm looking forward to the smell of the flowers... at least one time this year... then I'll start attacking the runners with passion, since it was impossible to get to them last year, before the mosquitoes ~NJ's state symbol~ come out in force..
Oh!.. the joys of living in the forest!!!.. :tongue:

I love this time of the season too when wildflowers start to bloom. I also live in a town where there are Orange groves everywhere and that scent you describe is also what i like when Spring comes ;)

I'm looking at the ducks living in our swamp in a whole new light.....:nod:

Autumn is my fav season down here cuz it means the end of 6 months of Hell is approaching. It usually starts about the second week in November and lasts until????? It gets hot & humid again.

Yesterday, 85. Today, 68 cuz of a cold front blowing through this morning. Thanks y'all :nod: It's too early to be hot already.:cool
