Well, believe what you want everyone. This is just my opinion of course. I won't discriminate against anyone based on whether you believe or not. In fact, one of my best friends is an Atheist. I don't care.

That's a very good outlook to have, and IMO very Christian at it's core. I just wish a lot more people who claim to be Christians shared it.

Good question. The idea of believing just in case is called Pascal's Wager and it's a bad bet. Even if God exists, we don't know how to impress him. Maybe he's looking for the people in the best physical condition. In which case if you want to impress God then you'd be better off exercising than going to church. That's a pretty silly example but my point is we don't really know what God wants. I think people should forget about impressing God and try to make their life into what they want it to be.

I think the point is (and has been made by a variety of people I think including you) that if God wanted us to have a relationship with him, it would not be a one sided relationship. The idea of going to church and worshiping "just in case" does not impress me so I can't imagine it would impress any divine being with dominion over us. I think if you try to be a better person and seek meaning in your life, you have your bases covered. I don't think the search for truth will reveal any startling revelations until as individuals we make the leap beyond physical existence to the unknown.
