My puppy is so sick

My 6 month old Maggie is so sick. I think she might be dehydrated. :dunno And of course the vets are all closed. She has got me so worried. But Im forcing her to drink Gatorade thru a childs medicine dropper. I hope she will be alright.

You should be able to find a 24hr emergency vet.

I hate to think of poorly pups.

O0o the only thing worse then a sick child is a sick Puppy,

Some vets have emergency after hours numbers, so they can at least talk to you and give you advice on what to do.

yep my mom cat was on it's way out to very old and sick , after 5 days of crushed antibiotics it was as good as new , go with around 1/3 of a you would take , it couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the info Homer. She is sound asleep on the couch right now. She is so worn out from puking after I gave her gatorade. Hopefully she will be much better by morning.

ok good luck, most of the meds vets give animals are the same as the meds we take.

Feed her small amounts of very plain food like chicken mince and rice or plain white fish and rice. And plenty of water... not gatorade!

You need to get her to a vet coz you will be pretty upset if she's dead when you wake up in the morning.

There is no way I'd give my dog let alone a puppy human medication.

I think it's a bit naive of you to say just give it a third of the dose. :tard

I was so afraid that she wasnt gonna make it thru the night but she's still with us. I called the 24 hr emergency vet and the answering service man told me that he could call the vet and wake him up but he would be upset and he would charge me $115 just to talk to him on the phone :wtf

Anyways, I finally got her to eat a little something this morning and drink some water. So thats a good thing. She hasnt gotten off the couch since about 6:00 last night though

It depends how much you value your pup as to weather you pay for her to be treated by the vet. I know what I'd do (and have done in the past) if it was me.

When my husband gets back home, he is taking her to her vet. I just couldnt believe that this one other vet was gonna charge $115 just for a phone call.

If she is still not taking solids mix a glucose solution and see if she will drink that
