I dont know if some of you remember or not but I was having issues with my heart before I got pregnant with my son. My veins in my heart are collapsed so it wasnt pumping blood properly. I had to take meds to try to pump my veins up which ended up pumping me up :( Anyways.. I would pass out everytime I worked out hard or did anything strenuous (sex... anything to get my heart rate up).. The doc told me that when I got pregnant that it would probably heal it because my body would be pumping more blood and it would cause my veins to open up more and if they opened for that long, it would of healed it to stay open. (if that makes sense).

Anyways, A week ago I almost passed out while having sex again. I chalked it up to being sick and tired.. Last night, Zach and I went to Lowes. We were walking around (fast because we were in a hurry) and I started getting light headed w/ cold sweats and felt really bad and faint. I had to sit down. I ended up leaving zach in the store and going to the car to lay down. The whole night I felt awful. Not sure what happened to me. Do yall think it could be my heart again? I really don't want to go through taking those meds again. nor do I want to die one day :(

Has anyone had this experience before?

Ohh Veronica, it sounds to me very similar to what you were experiencing before. I wouldn't even venture a guess at what else it could be but you really should call the doctor and get it checked out. You're a pretty smart lady, what would you tell somebody else? Don't take chances with your life, it's precious. ( YOU are precious) Please take care...xx

That has to be scary.:eek I wonder what your doctor will say?

I've forgotten what side-effects (if any) you'd had from the pills? Daily pills are indeed better than having a heart attack.

Those pills made me gain almost 25 pounds :( Which I took as a BIG side effect. LOL Other than that, I just hate taking pills. Those pills made me retain ALOT of water.

And I am probably gonna go back to the doctor. My husband is all worried about me again and he is insisting I cut out caffeine and go to the doctor immediately. :( I dont want him worked up if its just a cold tho (i have had a head cold for the last 2 weeks)

Ouch.
But yes, I'm with Sadie - that sounds similar to your former experiences. :-(

Isn't there a possibility to get other meds which don't bring those side effects with them?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

When it comes to heart problems, i think the best advise of course is to seek help from your MD right away.

On the other hand, I have heart problems too ( irregular heart rhythms and increased heart rate above 100s) Activity-wise, it helped me with inclined thread mills and mountain climbing. Has something to do with going against gravity to increase resistance and helping my heart too to work at it's potential just like you explained. But of course for you, it should be as tolerated and firstly, ask your MD if it's feasible for you or not.

Like you, I've always experienced passing out, dizziness too. I've never had a final diagnosis except being treated on and off for the symptoms. As with these symptoms, it helped big time when my OB Gyne advised me to take Iron supplements. Her logic is which makes sense- is that during labor and delivery of our babies, we lose lots of blood which includes Iron. Hence she stated too that the more deliveries, we've had then the more blood loss we've had and most of the time, our body is unable to cope up replacing it hence leading to dizzy spells, easy fatiguability etc. My Iron levels are normal most of the time, but have had it checked during menstrual days and it's true it drops more. The Iron supplements help control my dizzy spells so am hoping this info can help you too .

Iron in blood: Iron helps in producing hemoglobin to carry oxygen to the body's tissues and different organs in our body. As a result of lack thereof, you may feel weak, tired, irritable, dizzy.

Yeah, well, Meat is for Men, Bone is for Dogs ;) That being said, it's weird that pills for your heart would make you gain weight which is turn is harder on your heart.. :willy_nilly:

You should let your doctor know. If you have been sick for two weeks you could just be tired. But your doctor should still know in case that's not the problem.

I do know that I have to take blood pressure pills every day. I also have to take a water pill with it so I don't retain water and a potassium pill because I'm taking a water pill................. modern science I tell ya......

You can eat Iron rich foods too, if it might help

Very good sources of heme iron, with 3.5 milligrams or more per serving, include:
  • 3 ounces of beef or chicken liver
  • 3 ounces of clams or mollusks
  • 3 ounces of oysters
Good sources of heme iron, with 2.1 milligrams or more per serving, include:
  • 3 ounces of cooked beef
  • 3 ounces of canned sardines, canned in oil
  • 3 ounces of cooked turkey
Other sources of heme iron, with 0.7 milligrams or more per serving, include:
  • 3 ounces of chicken
  • 3 ounces of halibut, haddock, perch, salmon, or tuna

Get your ass to the Doctor!

A few extra pounds > Medical conditions (potentially serious) going un-treated.

Think of your son and get to the doc asap. What would he do with no mommy? It might not be your heart, it might be something simple and easily treated, but why speculate? Go and find out for sure.

(I know we don't know each other, sorry for being harsh, but I'd hate to hear something happened to you.):)

I hope you are able to figure it out and get better. I actually kind of have been having this problem, though I have no clue what is wrong. No insurance to see a doctor. Memorial weekend, I felt dizzy and sick and collapsed on the floor. About three weeks ago, I felt it about to happen, so I sat down and was fine. When I visited my bf last weekend, it happened when we were in a grocery store.

Horrible feeling, like you'll puke and faint at once.
