My friends and I were sitting at lunch and some how we got started on whether being gay was right or wrong. My friend thinks it's downright wrong and utterly gross, and hates it. He said that being gay and being a pedophile are the exact same thing... I see why he would think being gay is wrong since he is a strong believing Christian, but still I just don't see how he can think being gay and being a pedophile are the same thing. Yes they are both sexual preferences of some kind, but so is being heterosexual or bisexual and he doesn't think any of those are the same thing. I don't understand the logic in his argument.

Pedophilia isn't necessarily raping a child against their will. Sometimes it's raping them with their consent. It's still rape.

I don't think that homosexual feelings are very different from pedophiliac feelings or heterosexual feelings. One can't help what makes them horny. Some people are turned on by taller people, shorter people, older, younger, fatter, lighter, darker, and on and on and on.

The difference is in the behavior. The behavior is where the choice is made.

Sex between two (or more) consenting adults is okay. Sex between an adult and a child (whose brain by definition has not developed the ability to consent to such a serious act) is not okay.

It's that simple.

I have heard this mentality before ... it is typically found within narrow minded people from ANYWHERE in the World and from ANY culture or religion. The idea of homosexuality is so ALIEN to their understanding that they can only jump to FEAR when trying to understand it ... ergo, Pedofelia.
