Yeah, so...I have issues. I was at work today when all of a sudden I had this pain in my foot. It felt like a severe cramp but it didn't go away. I could hardly walk for a while. Then it got better but it still hurt and I still couldn't walk properly. Then I had my supper break and when I came back down it did it again. So I hobbled around for the rest of the evening. Sometimes it was better and sometimes it was worse. When I got home and examined my foot I noticed that there was no swelling but there was some faint bruising around the toes. That's odd because my foot wasn't stomped on or otherwise wacked at all today. Can cramping do that? Cause bruising? After I showered I put some Mineral Ice on it and got off my feet. It feels much better now but it's still a bit sore and very stiff. Stupid foot. :willy_nilly:

My left foot attracts issues it seems.

I had a broken big toe that I didn't realise was broken and that caused me pain on and off for about a year.

The arch segment sometimes feels as though it's on fire (when walking) but when I look I can't see any bruising or anything different compared to the other foot. Odd.

Hope your foot problem goes away soon. :thumbup

Try soaking it in one of those hot salt / mineral bath things. That can work wonders for a sore foot.

Don't have one. :( It feels better this morning.

Just use a bucket or something and hot water. :D

Also, aren't you working outdoors with horses all day, on your feet? You deserve a nice foot bath. Take care of those things, they take on a lot of mileage.

Yeah, I've got three days until my weekend off and then I can be lazy and sit around for three days. :D:thumbup I think I can make it three days without falling apart. :D

I just took this picture. I don't know what caused that bruise. It hurt if I pressed that area and also hurt if I pressed the ball/arch of my foot. But that was yesterday. Today it's much better. It's stiff and still a bit sore when I walk but I don't have to hobble around today. I'm still going with the theory that it was a severe cramp in my foot/toes but the bruise baffles me.

A severe cramp may have led to your bruising but it's not the direct cause of it. The reason why u have bruising on that area is coz: 1) Ambulation wise when u make ur steps- assess where you place pressure on while making steps. It's that area where your bruise is. After the cramping and u still walked around with your foot despite the pain there was already less circulation and since as regular body's defense mechanism is to protect the area where it's hurting- then the weight bearing and continued walking, cramping added to more pressure on your foot. It particularly affected that site as u can see it's where u bend from in making steps and since it has lesser protection as lesser fat tissues and smaller sized-bone.

I am hoping you go see an MD right away and don't work with that injury for 3 days b4 u rest it. You might just be aggravating the injury.

Darrell was right that u can soak your foot too to help. If you don't have epsom salt then u can improvise by using regular salt, mix with warm H20. Also wear some comfortable shoes with good support esp when you're at work and on your feet.

Could be a few things. I've gotten similar bruising from a stress fracture, dropping something on my foot, re-fracturing old injury, being stepped on, dislocation...

You didn't have any trauma that you recall though?

PD acttually had a good idea also.

Since it is on the mend, I would reccomend rest, ice(15min on, 15 off), compression(wrap it), and elevation... I would call your Dr and tell them what's going on, when you first noticed it etc, so it is on file and see if he wants to examine it.

Lol, I don't have a doctor. :ninja :p Besides, I think doctors have a lot more necessary things to look after than some old foot cramp. It felt a lot better today anyway. More stiff than sore. I'm also not going to take time off work. I'm old school. I suck it up, buttercup. :p
