I was at wal-mart earlier tonight looking for PVC pipe since home depot closes early on sundays..
they didn't have any so I wondered over to the electronics like usual and saw a couple of people hanging around where the x-box 360 demo is
I walked by and saw a green box at the very bottom and the very back of the display behind the glass
At my height aprrox 6 feet, I could barely see the box and didn't think about it too much cause last week they had like 10 x-box display boxes everywhere and they were out of stock
So after the small grp walked away I took a better look and sure enough it was a 360 box, but again thought it could be a display box so I asked this old lady that was working back there if it was a display or the system
She says she has been asked 15+ times today if they had 360's in stock and that they have non.
I don't think she ever actually ever looked, and I didn't really think it was really a system anyways
So I go on about my business, but the thought of the box kept nagging at me like a burr in my side. If it was a display box, and apparently their last one why is it way back there tucked away barely visable, ect
It just didn't add up.
I went back to electronics and found this young girl round my age. I asked her, How can you tell the difference between an actual system box, or just a display box. She told me if it weighs anything than there is a xbox in there. I said, Let's go check it out.
To both of our suprise the box was legit, and had a 360 in there. But it was the core box instead of the better version..
Thus the evil plan, I checked with her on the return policy on the xbox and I can return the box with reciept within 90 days as long as I have all the content of the box.
So I bought the box and call of duty (which is badass btw) and in 2 months or so when the premium versions are more available I can return the current one. Til then I can get things I would need anyways for the 360 like an additional control, not sure what else
