Not for too long though... it only takes 5 minutes tops.
Take a wife beater and lay it flat face down.
Find approximate middle (right to left middle, not up and down middle) of the back.
Cut from the bottom seam up to where you want it to stop. I went about 4 inches below the bra strap on this one.
So now you have a slit up the center. You want to make the loop holes now.
What I did for this one was make the slits about a half inch from the edge of the slit. I made them the width of the ribbon.
The thicker the ribbon, or the closer together you make the loops, the less you will see of your skin. This ribbon is about a half inch wide, therefore I made the slits a half inch long.
You want to make sets of slits like a shoe has for laces, directly across from each other. I spaced these out about an inch and a half vertically from center to center of the slit. Make a bunch of these the length of your slit and stop a couple inches or so from the bottom of the shirt. Mix it up, it doesnt really matter.
Lace up your shirt with the ribbon. Try to keep it from being twisted. It looks sloppy. Finish it off with a bow and you are good to go.
You can wash it with the ribbon in, but I dont recommend it. It scrunches the shirt and when you put it in the dryer, it comes out goofy. Not to mention the colors possibly bleeding.
Post up pics of your project!! Get different colored ribbon so you can change them out any time you want!
