Personally I don't understand how people don't get the difference. I'm just guessing that none of you who are straight ever had to struggle w/ your sexuality and worry about the response from your parents when they find out. The reason straight people don't need a coming out party, is for the simple fact that society automatically assumes you are straight given no other facts. So since everyone is assumed straight, a coming out party would let their friends and family know otherwise.

I find it curious that the straight community can be proud of their sexuality and display it publicly anytime they want, but when a gay individual does, he's seen as flaunting it. :dunno:
