Musical and Creative advise needed... *Help Me?*

Going a completely different direction here...

After listening to the Joss Stone number quite a few times (which I still want a complete recording of, by the way) I think you could pull off some Janis

I can even picture the video in my head. Kellie and the girls dancing in a clean studio for the slow parts. You walking through some classic-looking city street for the rougher parts. NYC would be a perfect sitting and you got the range for it, particularly the lower parts.

The plan is at least 3/4 of it outside to use the natural lighting to cut down on equipment costs.

If you want to eliminate the indoor lighting costs completely. Try to find a building with an eastern exposure and film early in the morning. The sun coming in the windows will give some pretty dramatic lighting effects. Maybe an old warehouse. Then a few well placed reflectors and diffusers. :dunno

But you need to settle on a song before you can pick a place and the theme for the video...

So lets go, pick a song so we can start whipping up a few story boards.

So I just noticed this thread. He is right about picking the song first, but I like his idea of an old warehouse or something of that nature. I thought it would be really sexy if the girls short top hats with a white ribbon, some sort of pin stripped suite, and maybe even a cane. With the right lighting in an abandoned warehouse and good choreography I think it could turn out great. The guys in the video could act as props for the girls. Just a vision I had. The idea maybe a little played out though.

As many of you already know, I have a growing singing career. Well not really a career but more of a hobby that pays. Well, one of my dearest friends not only is on Broadway but does extra work on TV and in movies. Well she got me hooked up with one of the best deals ever. A TV show that is filming in NY this summer is using a local cinematography crew to do the shoot. Kellie (my friend) is going to be an extra on the show. So she pulled some strings and happened to get the film crew for the summer on days that they will not be shooting to shoot a music video for me for a low price.

I have two months to plan this out. So I spoke to the mods and admins here and got permission to post a thread about it here. I thought it would be fun to have everyone help me out with it with creative ideas.
So if you want to help, sign up here and we will collect the ideas, understand that this will not be on MTV or anything but will be professionally filmed. I will be more than happy to try and get any contributors into the film if you can make it to NYC.

The creative team is

Me, singer and performer
My friend Kellie who has gotten some Broadway dancers to be involved, both male and female and she will be choreographing and dancing (It will help their portfolio)
Tim, he is our fashion consultant and will be handling wardrobe and hair
Angie, is providing musical talent
Diane who is the director and will be coordinating all of the cinematography

So, how do you guys help you may ask? Well, I really have no idea what to do for the music or what story to tell in the video and we all are looking for any creative input.

I am open to other suggestions as well. The thought is to make sure we can include our backup dancers and to make it sexy. Everyone is working out really hard to get our bodies right for the video. I am not a song writer so I am stuck with covers.

Anyway, any and all suggestions are welcome, I need as much contribution as possible and we will not only post the final product here but we will credit any and all contributors with their contributions. I will be using this video to further get club shows and hopefully find a songwriter that wants me to perform their music.
