I find it fascinating when creatures like that which you'd expect to be too frightened of us humans come right up to your hand and eat like that. Nice shot

I started by leaving bits of bread on the railing....then she would gradually get closer and closer....now she has very little fear and flies straight up to me.

At the last park I worked at....the wild lorikeets were tame and would land on you if you had bread in your hand....sometimes at least a dozen.

and at yet ANOTHER resort I worked at...we had a kookaburra family that would come every morning and eat raw mince from your hand....they were my favourite...I LOVE kookaburras.

Is it sad that it makes my day some mornings?

Not sad at all. Critters are great to wake up to. Unless of course you're camping. Somehow the Magpies know that and start hollering right outside your tent or trailer. Buggers are bloody loud.

They would "kill" the mince first by smashing it into the railing...was quite funny.
