9/11 changed some attitudes about Iraq . . . right or wrong

correction: The media/government changed everyones minds after 9/11

If the Bush administration didn't associate Iraq/Saddam with 9/11 every chance they got we would have kept our focus on Bin Laden and maybe the Saudis... the people are sheep and he lead them to war. There are still a large number of Americans when polled say that Saddam had something to do with 9/11

Ehh I don't believe that totally Tim, we were going to have to face that guy eventually, the government has a vast rich history of lying to us about reasons we do things.

Off the top of your head, how many different reasons were developed for our placing trops in vietnam?

I know a few, hell my own father was in special forces, and he was given two different objectives, by the same C/O:p

Not me, I knew they were going to be a problem when Desert Storm started, and most should have seen the writing on the wall back during Iran Contra too.

It's like we live in a parallel universe or something, I mean what do people think has to be done when you INTENTIONALLY insert a guy like that as a leader...He wasn't chosen becuase of his vast moral fibre:24:

Well, you're not one of the marching morons either. But yeah, we've had a history of similar action. And history can be a vast early warning system :D

Something about lying with dogs, fleas, what have you ;)

And I wouldn't disagree. We definitely needed to take care of him at some point, some how. But invading Iraq was not the way to go about it, we should have learned from Vietnam

I think you and I have a common ground there...we didn't need to loose thousands of troops to kill one psycho:D

A .35 cent bullet would have done the job:ninja

The world is safer without Saddam Hussein in power.

Yet there has been a dramatic increase in worldwide terror attacks since the fall of Saddam.

Iraq is now on the mend

The citizens of Iraq would disagree.

the war is on the path to victory

This is the war on terror, according to Bush. This war can never be won, so to claim the war is on the 'path to victory' is just...foolish.

al Qaeda has been dealt a humiliating defeat,

Yet Osama bin Laden, the man responsible for almost 3000 deaths, remains free.
