I am about due to have to start mowing this year.
So fun.
I expect areas south of me here in Missouri have already started to mow.
When do you start to mow and where are you from.
Do you enjoy it or are you sick of it as I am....every year same crap.

Southwestern Ohio, here ....so we're a bit behind you in yard work each spring.

Grass mowing is no big deal for me.
A finish mower behind a 9N Ford tractor makes short work of it.

Takes me about three to three and a half hours to mow with a 50 inch cut zero turn dixon
String trimming can take a spell as well ..lots of trees, fence, and ornaments to contend with.
Is the finsh mower driven by the pto or does it have its own engine...I have seen some gaining popularity around here that has its own engine.

I have already mowed several times this spring here in Alabama. ZTR snapper does a good job on the main yard. Husky push mower for around the pool. 1.5 hours usually. Therapy this time of year, chore by mid-summer.

But TS quit supplying parts when it apparently had a falling out with it's Italian supplier.
So now when it needs something, google is my friend ( and my welding equipment )

Been a good mower, though. ~20 years in service and aside from having to weld up several stress cracks, the drive belt has been the only major maintenance and that was bought through Amazon.

Oh trust me, I cant stand winter xD
Thankfully, its at that stage where its melting, but that also means the grass wont need cutting for a while to come which I am also thankful for xD

I do like mild summers a strong point for Canada.
I cranked up the old mower...fired up in about 20 seconds...mowed about an acre went back to the house and throttled it down...low side jet partially clogged.I will toss a lettle techron in the tank next week and hopefully disolve the gum or varnish.
Old Stihl trimmer took off on about the 5th pull and ran but had to adjust out the jets as it was lean...will let it sit a week and run her again..and hopefully the gum or varnish will disolve as well.
The season is off to a fair start ...jus a little gum or varnish problem with old caseys fuel.

I hate it. If I was rich I would just hire somebody to do it.

Luckily my yard is small and there is not maintenance to do as far as trimming and taking care of bushes.

I am going to try the mindset this year where I keep telling myself it beats snowblowing.

My ideal yard would be green asphalt with no bushes, flower beds, etc.

If I did not have a dog and like to play music loud I would probably move into a condo

They have lots of lawn care people here for people in the city..often doing a small yard for about 20 bucks..they can do it cheap as they get several houses on a block..and can make a good day out of it.
Another crew may may be doing several houses a few blocks away..and they do that neighborhood cheap too.
Some of the kids have gigs going on as well . They dont stress on child labor laws here for paying a kid to mow your yard...yet.
Missouri still does have some advantages...people can sell tomotaoes from the tailgate of thier truck for example.

I can use the $100 per month on different things. Adds up to probably $600 per year. I think around $30 a week would be the norm here. There are no kids doing it. Just lawn mowing services

I have a small yard so it takes about a half an hour. In a pinch I still have the riding mower from my old house and could do it a bit quicker.

I grew up in a very large yard and grew to hate yard work very quickly. In the spring my spring vacation from school was spent raking out dead grass. It took most of the week. Then for at least half of a saturday and sunday each month I would be cultivating the flower beds. Then in the fall it was leaves. We had about an acre of large oak and elm trees. Plus many years we did my grandparents leaves at their house. They lived next door
