Is it just me or do people not place the same level of importance on Fathers Day as they do Mothers Day ?
I feel both days are the same in importance but I seem to think that Mothers days gets more attention.
It could be the whole mother giving birth thing that's the difference.
What do you think ? :cool

A bigger deal is made of Mother's Day! The restaurants appreciate the business.

No offense to the guys.. (this is my experience)

My first husband wasnt a hands on dad. I am the one that did everything- no help from him except for when he got pissed that the house wasnt clean to his standards cuz of the children being crazy or whatever. Women do ALOT of the work! Not in all cases.. Because I know of some dads (my husband zach is a good example) are great dads and will do the same load of work as the woman, but its rare. My father wasnt there for me. He left us when we were young for my baby sitter. My mother worked 3 jobs and attended college to support us. It was hard on her and us. So in my personal experience.. mothers day is held more highly than fathers.

Now, In my current household- fathers day will be just as big cuz my hubby rocks!

I agree with you in general but I do think it's changing and the newer generation of dads are way more hands on and into their kids

Depends on the family.
Fathers day is about getting your dad a beer and some sweet electronic device to show that you care, anyway.
Its the women who prefer going out and being pampered.
As far as when my son gets older, I'm sure fathers day will be important to the both of us

I also think that moms are more into the whole thing than guys are. I know Troy doesn't really care much for having a big deal made out of things for him. I used to do stuff for days like that, but he isn't really into it.

Well the moms are the ones who went through the 9.5 months and then labor. I'd say a little extra is needed lol.

In all honesty, around here they both share the same importance.
